Driving is changing. On the one hand, this is due to the electrification of the powertrain and increasingly powerful driver assistance systems, but also to the growing number and complexity of comfort and other on-board functions in cars. For these so-called body applications, Infineon Technologies expanded its highly successful AURIX/TriCore business in 2020 with the acquisition of Cypress, adding the Cortex-M-based TRAVEO™ T2G family. These chips address applications such as the body control module, door, window, sunroof, seat and lighting control units, as well as smartphone terminals and wireless chargers in the vehicle interior.

High data security and remote updates without service interruption

The Infineon Traveo II multicore family is based on ARM® Cortex®-M7 and -M4 cores with up to 8 MB of integrated flash memory. These devices meet the functional safety requirements of ASIL-B according to ISO 26262 for safe operation even at ambient temperatures up to 125°C. Traveo™ II MCUs are equipped with modern peripheral interfaces, including the CAN-FD, Ethernet, and FlexRay communication protocols. According to the manufacturer, all entry-level devices are pin-compatible, as are the high-end devices, ensuring excellent scalability. With current consumption as low as 5 µA, they are also extremely efficient.

The product family meets the EVITA full data security criteria for connected vehicles, supports firmware-over-the-air and enables remote updates of application and security software without service interruption.

An easily understandable path through the register jungle

The increasing use of Arm controllers in the automotive sector is pushing many embedded developers, architects, and testers who have no prior experience with Cortex-M to their limits. The Cortex-M architecture is specifically optimized for interrupt efficiency and behaves fundamentally differently than a Cortex-A, Cortex-R, and especially an AURIX/TriCore. Therefore, MicroConsult GmbH focuses its first “TRAVEO™ T2G Body Online Training” on the core architecture and exception/interrupt handling of the Cortex-M line. The training's practical exercises combine TRAVEO™ T2G-specific interrupt routing and Cortex-M generic interrupt handling with CMSIS functions to create an easily understandable path through the register jungle.

Develop directly on a TRAVEO™ T2G Starter Kit

In MicroConsult's "One Hour to TRAVEO™ T2G Body Online Training," you will expand your fundamental knowledge and learn how to develop TRAVEO™ T2G-based body control applications. The exercises are performed directly on your Infineon TRAVEO™ T2G Starter Kit CYTVII-BE-1M-SK. The training sessions cover the CPU subsystem with the Arm Cortex-M, exceptions, interrupt priorities, MPU settings, and the peripheral subsystem with multiple complex communication interfaces – both theoretically and through several practical exercises.

A total of eight videos, with a combined length of just over two hours, teach you everything you need to know about developing automotive body control applications with the Infineon TRAVEO™ T2G. In addition, we provide you with detailed tutorials and downloadable resources, as well as a voucher code for requesting your free starter kit for the exercises.

Upon successful participation in the seminar and completion of the associated exercises, you will receive the coveted MicroConsult training certificate. Sign up now and get started right away!
