The 10th ESE Congress represents 10 years of well over 1000 lectures and seminars, the intensive exchange of knowledge and experience, and the forging of valuable contacts across industry boundaries. The embedded software community has been meeting in Sindelfingen at the end of the year since 2008, and this year, as always, they will dedicate five days to delving deeply into topics and thinking outside the box.
Ten is an interesting number because it can also be read as the digital 2. When we write the number "IO," it reminds us of the "I" for input and "O" for output. Between I and O, zeros and ones race through microcontroller pipelines and digital labyrinths. Or they zip around the world, radically changing it. We all know how much chaos they can cause when they fall into the hands of ignorant, irresponsible, or even criminal individuals.
The lecture „Secure Design Patterns“ (06.12.17, 08:50 am) by Marcus Gößler It demonstrates methods that embedded developers can use to reduce vulnerabilities through a solid foundation and establish security as an integral part of the development process. "Don't reinvent the wheel when it comes to security; instead, rely on recognized principles of design patterns," recommends Gößler, trainer and coach at MicroConsult specializing in multicore and safety-critical ecosystems.
If you've always wanted a checklist on the topic of requirements engineering and management, then this is the one for you. Thomas Batt, MicroConsult trainer and coach for systems/software engineering for embedded and real-time systems as well as for development management, in his presentation „Requirements – a checklist for maturity“(December 5, 2017, 8:50 a.m.) This is exactly what you need. The points raised in the presentation will enable you to better assess how far requirements engineering and management have already matured in your company and what potential you can still tap into.”.
Frank Listing He has been a trainer and project coach at MicroConsult since 2002, specializing in Microsoft platforms, object-oriented programming, and embedded systems testing. He is pleased to share his knowledge with the ESE audience again this year, including in a compact seminar entitled "„Clean Code in Practice – Programming Principles Explained in an Understandable Way“(December 4, 2017, 9:00 AM). The seminar explains selected programming principles using examples in C and C++ and highlights the advantages and disadvantages of their application.
Presentations – Knowledge, experience, inspiration
The growing importance of security and safety in the context of the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, autonomous driving, and electromobility is reflected in the program of the ESE Congress 2017, as is the increasing interest in the practical application of machine learning. The following topics will be examined from the perspective of management and leadership responsibility: product lifecycles, data protection, visualization, agility, conflict resolution, technical debt, and cost evaluation.
Exhibition – Tools, partners, solutions
The accompanying exhibition, featuring a total of 54 companies, is characterized by short distances, competent contacts, and a clear focus on embedded software engineering. Take advantage of the opportunity for personal discussions with companies that can support you on your solution journey – whether with helpful tools or as partners with valuable expertise. We create the ideal conditions for relaxed networking and technical discussions without the hustle and bustle of a trade show or marketing hype. Get to know the companies, compare their offerings, and gather information firsthand.
Gather up-to-date knowledge, find inspiration, and exchange experiences so you can tackle the major challenges posed by these small yet powerful numbers. The program of the 10th Embedded Software Engineering Congress offers you numerous opportunities to do just that. With a total of 114 individual events, the ESE Congress provides the ideal setting to explore the topics and trends that challenge embedded software developers today and tomorrow.
