The 10th ESE Congress represents 10 years of well over 1000 lectures and seminars, the intensive exchange of knowledge and experience, and the forging of valuable contacts across industry boundaries. The embedded software community has been meeting in Sindelfingen at the end of the year since 2008, and this year, as always, they will dedicate five days to delving deeply into topics and thinking outside the box.
Ten is an interesting number because it can also be read as the digital 2. When we write the number "IO," it reminds us of the "I" for input and "O" for output. Between I and O, zeros and ones race through microcontroller pipelines and digital labyrinths. Or they zip around the world, radically changing it. We all know how much chaos they can cause when they fall into the hands of ignorant, irresponsible, or even criminal individuals.
The lecture „Secure Design Patterns“ (06.12.17, 08:50 am) by Marcus Gößler It demonstrates methods that embedded developers can use to reduce vulnerabilities through a solid foundation and establish security as an integral part of the development process. "Don't reinvent the wheel when it comes to security; instead, rely on recognized principles of design patterns," recommends Gößler, trainer and coach at MicroConsult specializing in multicore and safety-critical ecosystems.

Frank Listing He has been a trainer and project coach at MicroConsult since 2002, specializing in Microsoft platforms, object-oriented programming, and embedded systems testing. He is pleased to share his knowledge with the ESE audience again this year, including in a compact seminar entitled "„Clean Code in Practice – Programming Principles Explained in an Understandable Way“(December 4, 2017, 9:00 AM). The seminar explains selected programming principles using examples in C and C++ and highlights the advantages and disadvantages of their application.
