The year 2020 has moved us forward as a company – you don't hear that very often these days. Learning to adapt quickly to new circumstances and seizing the opportunities they present will continue to be one of the most important qualities for companies in the future.
With the contact restrictions imposed this spring due to the coronavirus pandemic, complex embedded topics presented their own set of challenges. We quickly realized that the coming period would bring a great deal of change for our company – probably nothing would ever be the same again. So, should we simply move our courses online step by step? Complex topics like the ones we cover have their own set of rules. One of the biggest hurdles for our trainers and participants was the necessary infrastructure.
For example, many exercises utilize a pool of specific development software, debuggers, and development boards that are shared by several colleagues on a daily basis. Within companies, development software typically has virtually unlimited access to central servers. When working from home, however, access to these resources is restricted.
To address this issue, MicroConsult has set up virtual training rooms where each participant has access to the software and hardware required for training – in a fully installed environment that requires no further effort.
Even communication via video conferencing software quickly reaches its limits. Individual questions about the content can't simply be answered on the fly; instead, Q&A sessions have to be organized. Unfortunately, the valuable one-on-one conversations between participants and trainers, which usually took place during breaks and provided an opportunity for inspiring exchanges, are now lost.
A new way of imparting knowledge creates new opportunities.
Whiteboards, flipcharts and pinboards – all of this can be found in a Online training It's difficult to use effectively. With a monitor, each participant has a clear view of their own "whiteboard." For the trainer, this means adapting their method of knowledge transfer from parallel presentations to the format of a screen. Another major challenge is compensating for the trainer's personal charisma in a live presentation with video and audio.
Therefore, all practical exercises in the seminars are given a new format – participants can perform them independently and successfully after receiving a knowledge package.

Generous spacing between seats in the seminar rooms, hand sanitizer dispensers, face masks, and regular disinfection of door handles and seminar seats after each training session are, for example, integral parts of our hygiene concept, which ensures a safe seminar experience for you.
