MicroConsult was represented at the ESE Congress 2019 not only as an organizer, but also as an exhibitor and with the following contributions:
Test First – test first, think later?
Test-Driven Development of Embedded Systems
This presentation will show you how to improve product quality and reduce maintenance costs using the Test-First and Test-Driven Development (TDD) approaches. You will learn the fundamental TDD methodology and its potential applications, advantages, and disadvantages. You will also learn what to consider when selecting suitable tools for embedded systems, ensuring compatibility with future modifications and increasing reusability.

Compact seminar
Who's afraid of Cortex-R52?
This seminar provides a comprehensive introduction to the new Cortex-R52 core architecture. This architecture is specifically designed for applications in embedded systems and the automotive industry. It supports multicore implementations as well as functional safety features. Both of these areas address the increasing demands for greater computing power while simultaneously ensuring functionally safe systems. Initial implementations are already available as prototypes, and it is expected that more will follow.
For newcomers to the Arm Cortex world, this seminar offers a concise opportunity to learn about the architecture's unique features and assess the differences compared to other processors. Users of other Arm-based processors, such as Cortex-M or Cortex-A, will gain a clear understanding of the differences, providing a foundation for structured selection and efficient use.

Keynote
What caused the project to die?
On Wednesday, Peter Siwon, Dipl.-Ing., co-founder and project manager of the ESE Congress and expert in systemic project management, delivered a lighthearted, insightful, and somewhat macabre exploration of the causes of project demise in his keynote address. He was accompanied by his project mascot, Georg. Using objects from his refrigerators and entertaining demonstrations, Dr. Med Thod provided a unique and insightful post-mortem dump. He illuminated some fundamental causes of project failure and offered insights into essential survival principles, not just for projects. A presentation that opened up interesting perspectives on project work and inspired courage.
