Generic Timer Module (Bosch-GTM): Architecture and Programming
The GTM IP module (Bosch Semiconductors) forms a generic timer platform for complex applications in the automotive industry like power train, power steering, chassis and transmission control. The module is designed to offer flexible solutions for different applications. The GTM IP is designed to run with minimal CPU interaction and to unload the CPU from handling interrupt service requests as much as possible. Generic interfaces and the hierarchical system architecture make the GTM an ideal solution as IP core for various microcontroller architectures.
You know the functions of GTM v1 and extensions of the v3 version and are able to assess potential application domains as well as the related effort. You get familiar with the overall concept and potential automotive applications. Customers coming from a non-automotive sector learn how to make flexible use of the GTM module and know the differences between dedicated features as well as features for arbitrary use.
